Lombok Shower Party
The number of foreigners in Lombok is getting bigger each year. This number has created cultural mix. Lombok is getting more westernized so does with the foreigners that's getting more easternized. Being part of this mix culture has made me feel more globalized and more aware that I'm a world citizen.
About a half hour later, we could
hear sounds of antique car parked in front yard garage. Four people went out
and slammed the car doors in different seconds. All teachers and I were ready
stood still with two fistful of flowers in our hands on the left and right side
of the door. As the steps sounded closer, Sarah pushed the door; she looked
pretty in her black short and long sleeve green shirt. Her expression was
quickly changed, he laughed and overwhelmed with joy as we keep throwing her
with the flowers.
Hmmm…party started, Sarah was
asked to sit on a chair and was ready for making over. Fifi grabbed her all
beauty staffs and get it started. It took quite a while. We were waiting while eating
some cakes. Fifi gave a sign, Sarah went out. She was dressed in purple Kebaya
and wore a traditional waving sarong. On her head a golden accessories made her
look liked a princess. Everyone stunned, her Canadian face looked much more
beautiful. At the back, someone turned the music on, Dangdut music was in air. Fifin,
Echa, Efi, Kurnia, Enny were started to shake their body. Michelle and Sonia jumped
in, Sarah was in the middle of the dance circle. The party was getting hotter
as Fifin grabbed a hose and made everyone wet. The party was closed with my
small performance. I danced Gandrung—one of Lombok traditional dances for
Sarah. This was my first time to experience shower party. It was super fun. No man!!!!!
