Senggigi—The Starting Point for Travellers

If you don’t know where to go in Lombok, first stop a taxi and ask the driver to take you to Senggigi. Senggigi is widely known as the icon of Lombok tourism. One of the saying goes says “if you do not know Senggigi, you are definitely not Sasaks”. Senggigi lies on the west coast of Lombok and is administratively concluded into West Lombok. Nowadays Senggigi is developing into a bigger beach front town which is mostly inhabited by local and international mix. It hosts a range of local and of international events. Along its main roan, Jalan Raya Senggigi lies the cheapest to five start hotels, money changer, travel agencies, motorbike rental center, art galleries, restaurants, shops, bars, discotheques and pubs. Most travelers start and or end their travel at Senggigi since it is easy access to the Airport and Harbors.

Besides spoiled by various public facilities, Senggigi also serves a beach with turquoise water, strong waves on the southern part and the calm one in the opposite for its visitors. This condition has made Senggigi beach as a perfect place for some water sport activities such as swimming, canoeing, Surfing and sunbathing. The rental water spot equipment spreads along the beach. Snorkels, fins, canoe, Kayak even surfing board are available. Following the path line to the north, this beach is connected to the Senggigi art market. Souvenirs, second hand books in various languages, handcraft and clothes.

There are plenty of activities to do in Senggigi. Furthermore, this place is easy to reach. From the airport, Sengigi could be reached by bus. Meanwhile from Ampenan, It could be reached by Bemo.
