Tanjung Bloam

Image
We were stunned and couldn’t control ourselves when we get Tanjung Bloam. We keep saying “oh my gosh” all the time. Then we stood in line. Once we were ready Pak Samudin took our pictures for couple of times. He was so proud of himself for being able to take a snap. Soon we scattered. I climbed a big rock to take many snaps. Rozi, Tayeh and Dee were walking to the other part of the big rocky cliff, captured the whole panorama of the waves against the zigzag cliff.   Umar was so absorbed, he couldn’t stop pressing the button of his camera, tried to snap from every spot. And Emi was sitting on the flat rock let her legs hanging, enjoyed the divine landscape that spoiled her. Tanjung Bloam is an extraordinary beach. The panorama combines cliff, short line coast and its most special feature--the rocky hill which is located in the middle of the ocean. This rocky hill is covered by green weeds and is naturally bridged by rock. This shape creates a sea water river. These th...

When you think about Senggigi, probably most of you will have beaches, big hotels and splendid restaurants in your mind. Senggigi is more that. Among its verdant hills hide a little waterfall and some offspring.   This waterfall is not widely known. It is located 30 minutes walk from the heart of Senggigi village. To get a guide, you need to go to the village and ask one of the villagers to be your guide. She gave me some to try. The fruit is called Ketimusan in Sasak. The taste was a bit sour and sweet. She even offered me to bring home. I stopped couples times to capture some old trees.  First my guide led me to the top of the waterfall. I stayed there for awhile, enjoyed the beauty under from above. I washed my face and legs. The water was col...

When I went to Yogyakarta for chaperoning year 5 and 6, Museum Kereta was in a list to see.  As I get off from becak, I was a bit surprised because this museum looked so small. As I entered and the room after getting my ticket ripped by the guard, I could see that it is much bigger than I thought. This museum is a house for about 23 carriages of Keraton royal family. These carriages were mostly made by Dutch, German and designer from Switzerland.   One of the Carriage called Garudo Yeksa was even inspired Soekarno to build Monas. Some carriages are still used for special occasion such as royal family wedding and religious ceremony. All of the carriages are cleaned in a ritual bathing ceremony or Jamasan in Javanese. After Jamasan, a lot of people wait for the water that is used to clea...
