13 Pertanyaan Yang Perlu Ditanyakan Kepada Diri Sendiri di Tahun 2017
“Apa itu Apa?” Saya sering mendengar pertanyaan
ini dalam diskusi philosophy Club sebelum
para pemikir muda melanjutkan pertanyaaan berikutnya. Menurutmu apakah bertanya
itu penting? Mengapa kamu bertanya? Apakah kamu benar-benar tidak tahu? Atau
ingin menunjukkan hal yang telah kamu tahu.
Well apakah kamu sering bertanya di dalam kelas? Atau mungkin kamu
memilih datang, duduk, diam dan mendengar apa yang dijelaskan oleh dosen atau
gurumu, atau mungkin kamu masih malu-malu atau takut melontarkan pertanyaanmu.

budaya yang saya pelajari saat di Kirkwood
Community College, jika saya hanya diam di kelas, Professor –professor saya
seperti penasaran ingin mendengar pendapat saya, mungkin karena saya
satu-satunya anak dari Indonesia di kelas, mendengar sesuatu dari seseorang
dengan latar belakang yang berbeda adalah hal yang sangat penting dalam American classroom, saya sering merasa
kalau professor saya is very picky on me.
Jadi kalau saya tidak bertanya beliau akan bertanya balik pada saya. Biasanya
sebelum kelas dimulai saya menyiapakan tiga pertanyaan yang mungkin akan saya
tanyakan terkait dengan bahan diskusi tapi sering kali saya akan menemukan
pertanyaan yang baru lagi pada saat diskusi berlangsung.
Sebelum memasuki tahun
2017 semoga tiga belas pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang saya ambil dari The Book of Questions karya Gregory Stock bisa menjawab apa
sebenarnya yang kamu inginkan di tahun depan dan di tahun-tahun berikutnya.
1. What do you feel more often: gratitude
or envy? What are you most grateful for?
2. Do you think the world will be a better
or worse place a hundred years from now? Do you see our present world as a
better place than the world of a century ago?
3. What is the most outrageous thing you’ve
ever done? Do you look back on it more with pleasure or regret?
4. How often do you step back and reflect
on where you are headed? Would less or more self reflection be good for you?
5. If you could take one month trip
anywhere in the world and money would not consideration, where would you go and
what would you do?
6. Do you think you have much impact on the
lives of people whose paths you cross? Has anyone, offer short period of time,
significantly influence your life?
7. Do you seek or avoid routines in your
life, for instance, sleeping in same part of your back? Ordering the same
meals? Returning to the vacation spots? Why?
8. Would you rather live nearer to your
parents or farther away from them? What about your brothers, sisters, or grown
children?
9. When you are with your friends do your
interactions include much hugging, kissing, roughhousing, rubbing back, and
such? Would you like to have less or more of such touching?
10. Of all the people close to you, whose that
would disturb you most?
11. Do you do more listening or talking? May it be
good for you to shift that balance.
12. Five years from now what would you like
to be doing? What do you think you will be doing?
13. Do you look to the future more with
anticipation or anxiety?
