“Laut Surga” The Great Escape

Lombok Island offers hundreds of wonderful beaches. One of the beaches that you must not miss if you visit Lombok is Laut Surga. As you stand before its gate, you will find your self enchanted by the rolling waves in the gate frame. Even more, your feet will walk briskly to the blue ocean. Feeling the foam touches your skin and realizing that you find a heaven on the earth.

Laut Surga is derived from Indonesian. Laut means sea and surga means heaven.  This divinely name is fitted with its beauty. Lying between two high hills and hiding behind hills make this beach as a great escape.  From the beach, this heaven sea looks like a giant pool that is forted by the high hills. The waves are mostly rough all year.  However, some people who live around love to swim and to roll in the big waves. The length of Heaven Beach is less than 800 meters. The mix of white sand with the coral reef fossil has produced pepper-shaped white sand. In the eastern part, some gazebos stand firmly on the hill. From its top you can witness whole Ekas Bay.

As it is hiding among the hills, you are challenged by the winding road, the unavailable public facilities such as public transportation, toilets, water sport gear centers, hospital and ATM. If you plan to spend some nights, there is a villa available about 3 km away from Heaven beach.
