Desa Sekaroh, Pemongkong,
Jerowaru, East Lombok
Are you bored to step your feet
on a mountain? If yes, Tanjung Ringgit perhaps can be a good choice for your
next weekend. It is a non dense mountainous cliff in one of the southern most
point in the southern part of Lombok. Along the track you would enjoy the real
picture of Sumbawa Island and the huge wave splashes against the verdant cliff.
Besides witnessing the perfect fusion of hills and sea, you can also travel to
the past by visiting the old Miriam left from Japanese occupation that you will
see around the track.
This mountainous cliff is fully
filled by grass. It looks like a small savanna. However you still need good
gripped shoes as this place is quite rocky. Hat and sunscreen are very
important due to the temperature could reach 35 degrees Celsius. Around this
place there is not shop could be found. There is only one warung—street vendor. About 1 km away from Tanjung Ringgit, you can
also find the only villa to stay.
As it is located in the most
southern point, it takes 2 and half hour from Mataram. You can reach Tanjung
Ringgit by following route from Mataram-Sweta-Kediri-Praya-Ganti-Jerowaru.
Public transportation is only available until Praya. There is no schedule set. Starting
around 5 km away to Tanjung Ringgit, the road is quite challenging since you
have to pass the dry forest and the pebbled road. It would be better if you go
there by private car or motorbike.
